THE PITCH

Water started talking to you on your sixteenth birthday.

Not poetically. Literally. Emotions ripple through it—anger, joy, fear. You can feel what people feel when they touch water. It's overwhelming. It's beautiful. It's terrifying.

Because your uncle Taelaris—the mayor—doesn't know why this is happening. Your aunt Serilda has theories but no answers. Your cousin Kael tries to help with systematic logic that doesn't account for water speaking.

Your mother vanished when you were young. Your father died not long after. Your uncle and aunt raised you.

Now these abilities are awakening, and asking questions threatens everything.

This is Merauders: Tides of Fate— a choice-driven RPG where empathy replaces violence, family drives narrative, and discovering who you are changes everything.

WHY WE'RE BUILDING THIS

We're tired of violence being the only answer in RPGs.

We wanted a game where:

  • Conflicts resolve through understanding, not combat
  • Family relationships drive the story
  • Failure leads to recovery, not game over
  • Cultural competency powers gameplay
  • Discovery feels earned, not given
  • Players navigate actual mystery about identity

So we're building it. With chaos, empathy, and secrets that unfold gradually.

THE EXPERIENCE

You're Aelin. Sixteen. Raised by your uncle and aunt after losing both your parents.

Then water started speaking.

Now you're caught between:

  • Questions about abilities nobody can explain
  • Your uncle's political pressure as mayor
  • Eight cultures attempting fragile cooperation
  • Family secrets reaching back over a decade
  • Your own desperate need for answers
  • Choices that ripple through every relationship

Not the chosen one. Just a teenager with mysterious empathy, essential questions, and impossible choices.

You'll mess up. The game expects it. Support systems engage. Recovery becomes possible through sustained effort and genuine change.

What matters isn't playing perfectly. It's showing up, acknowledging mistakes, rebuilding trust, and continuing forward.

THE SYNTHESIS SYSTEM

Every conflict in Merauders resolves peacefully. Not because the game preaches at you, but because the Synthesis system makes empathy strategic.

You read emotional currents through water. Apply different cultural philosophies. Navigate political implications. Build trust through consistency. Recover from failures through authentic relationship repair.

It's as challenging as traditional combat—just focused on understanding people instead of defeating them.

Multiple solutions exist for every encounter. Which you choose—and how you implement it—determines whether relationships strengthen or fracture. Your tone matters. Your priorities matter. Your consistency matters.

This isn't "pick the right dialogue option." This is "navigate complex situations with imperfect information while managing family secrets and political crisis."

YOUR FAMILY IS COMPLICATED

Uncle Taelaris is exhausted. He's been mayor for ten years, raising you after his brother died and your mother vanished. Your mysterious abilities put him in an impossible position—support you or lose political credibility.

Aunt Serilda wants to help. She's learning to understand what you're experiencing. She asks questions, researches options, tries to bridge gaps between your uncle's political reality and your need for answers.

Cousin Kael provides systematic advice. Protective instincts. Family loyalty. But he's navigating this chaos too, trying to understand abilities that don't fit any logical framework.

This isn't fantasy family. This is processing loss. Asking painful questions. Integrating support when available. Learning what family means when secrets threaten to break everything.

The game doesn't promise neat resolution. It offers honest navigation of impossible circumstances.

EIGHT CULTURES ATTEMPTING THE IMPOSSIBLE

Lake Malaclypse wasn't designed for cooperation. An ancient meteor-volcano collision created diverse microclimates. Eight cultures fleeing conflict discovered neutral territory and chose cooperation because isolation meant death.

It's working. Barely.

The Draakori create ice-crystal architecture. The Auri mediate trade disputes. The Gilani host community meals. The Syldani research adaptation methods. The Kinaji coordinate crisis response. The Vari facilitate flexible exchange. The Pravi scout independently. The Qordhari engineer magnificent solutions.

Five guilds integrate these approaches rather than segregating communities.

But prejudice exists. Resources compete. Politics complicate everything. Your abilities complicate this further—when you can sense emotions through water, navigating cooperation becomes personal survival.

DISCOVER THE TRUTH GRADUALLY

This game won't hand you answers. You'll uncover the truth about your abilities through:

  • Family conversations revealing painful history
  • Guild training providing context
  • Cultural interactions offering perspective
  • Political crises forcing choices
  • Personal growth changing how you see yourself

By the end, you'll understand not just what you are, but who you choose to be.

WHY THIS MATTERS

In a gaming landscape where violence solves everything, we're proving empathy can power exceptional gameplay.

Where family relationships deserve center stage.

Where cultural cooperation—messy and hard and worth celebrating—can drive 80+ hours of engaging content.

Where discovering your identity should feel earned.

Where education happens through emotional engagement, not lectures.

Where your choices matter in how relationships survive or fracture.

This is the game we needed at sixteen.

Maybe it's the game you need now.

FROM US TO YOU

Thank you for considering Merauders.

We're building this because we believe cooperation is worth celebrating, even when it's messy. Because family relationships deserve complexity. Because discovering who you are should feel meaningful. Because players deserve genuine mystery and earned revelation.

But mostly? We're building this because at sixteen, we needed a game that said: You're not alone. Families keep secrets. Identity is complicated. And understanding—real understanding—is possible through honest effort and genuine care.

If you needed to hear that too, this game is for you.

Welcome to Lake Malaclypse. The water's speaking, and it has secrets to share.
